4 winter spices for beauty benefits

Hello, my beauties it is the 1st of March, the beginning of Spring month.

And I admit that I have been thinking for days about what to write about because there is so much… the area of holistic beauty is as big as the universe.

So let's go back to March.

Spring, sun, an awakening of nature, and ourselves.

The markets will be full of various fruits and vegetables. Nutrient abundance.

But we still have a couple of weeks until everything starts blooming and this very end of the Winter is always a challenging period both mentally and physically, right?

So, let's be smart and use some fantastic winter spices to prepare our skin for the coming springtime.

 

To start with cinnamon which is phenomenal for treating acne and is also a powerful antioxidant and therefore a good anti-aging ingredient. It helps with pigmentation and makes the skin tighter.

Tip: Make a mask of a teaspoon of cinnamon mixed with 2 tablespoons of honey and apply it onto the face. Wash with lukewarm water after 10 minutes.

My next favorite on the list is a ginger.

 Most of us know about ginger health benefits, but how can we use it in the skincare?

Ginger helps with hypopigmentation (white scars), cures acne, and is great for burns and blisters, tightens the skin, and gives it a radiant glow.

 Tip: You can apply ginger juice directly to parts of the skin with acne several times during the day. Or exfoliate the skin with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of yellow sugar, and a teaspoon of powdered ginger.

I would now add a superpower spice turmeric which is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, and gives excellent results in treating skin pigmentation.

 Tip: Make a mask for treating pigmentation from a spoonful of yogurt, a spoonful of honey, and a spoonful of turmeric. Apply evenly on the face and rinse with lukewarm water after 25 minutes.

 And for the end, like icing on the cake, I leave an amazing clove that you may not know but it is an inevitable ingredient in cosmetics that slows down skin aging.

It helps to reduce the sagginess of the skin, removes dead cells from the surface, and speeds up circulation.

The easiest way to use it is to make clove oil.

As such, you can add it to your oils, creams, and lotions or use it on its own.

The oil is easily made by a quick infusion.

Method: Fill a glass jar about two-thirds of cloves and pour oil to the top (my choice is jojoba or grapeseed oil) put it in the double boiler at the lowest temperature for 4-5 hours. Strain and you can use it immediately.

Clove oil has an aromatic smell and it can be strong for sensitive skin therefore you can dilute with another carrier oil.

I would like to complete this story about spices, nature, and beauty with an insight that in addition to all the nutrients we take in with food or apply topically on the skin, we also need to pay attention to what we feed our mind and soul with.

Taking little time each day to do something you enjoy creates a sense of happiness and satisfaction and those are the important ingredients for your skin to glow and look healthy.
